Cookies and tracking

The short version: this website sets no cookies, runs no analytics and carries no advertising trackers. The signed-in application sets one cookie, which keeps you signed in.

Section 01This website

The pages you are reading now set no cookies. They do not run an analytics tool, an advertising pixel, a heatmap recorder, a session replay, a chat widget or a social embed. There is no consent banner on this site because there is nothing to consent to.

Nothing on these pages is loaded from anywhere else, either. There are no web fonts, no hosted scripts and no images from a content network, partly because loading nothing is also the fastest way to serve a page to a phone with one bar of signal.

Section 02When you sign in

The application sets one cookie, and it holds your signed-in session. Without it the software cannot tell one request from another and you would be signed out constantly. It is strictly necessary, it is not used for anything else, and signing out clears it.

We do not set advertising or analytics cookies inside the application either.

Section 03Server records

Like every web server, ours records requests: the page, the time, the IP address, and the browser’s description of itself. That is how a website works and how a problem gets diagnosed. It is not a tracking system, it is not used to build a profile and it is not shared for marketing.

Section 04Email

Marketing and account email may carry ordinary open and click measurement. Court reminders do not. A tracking pixel on a court reminder buys an open rate nobody acts on and creates a record of when somebody read a message about their court date, which is a record we would then have to answer a subpoena about. So it is not there.

Section 05If this ever changes

If we add an analytics tool, this page changes first, on the same day, and it will name the tool and say what it collects. A privacy page that describes a website which no longer exists is worse than no page at all.
